SMT Imagine – Demystifying Project
As most probably realize by now, information about Imagine can be pretty scarce.
I’ll be writing a series of pages, when I’ve the time, to “reveal” some insights to the game that isn’t commonly known.
They can be accessed from the sidebar.
Draw your own conclusion from the stuff listed.
The skill table currently contains only active skills for PCs. Toggle/passive/devil skills will eventually be up.
Unlike most skill tables, the tables listed here have more than just the hp/mp cost of the skill listed. Things like casttime/cooldown/damage modifier etc… are listed too.
As for calculation, only damage and friendship is up.
It won’t give you a perfect view of everything, but it’s still better than looking at a video and proclaiming xxx or yyy skill rocks, without factoring everything that needs to be factored it. (Hi Kaito, I’m looking at you. Class 8 attack sucks? Oh my, melee all doing it wrong on the JP server.)
By the way, why the heck are people quoting stuff off http://imagine.gkwiki.com/ rather than http://wikiwiki.jp/imagine/?
The one at wikiwiki.jp is by far more accurate/updated…

金ダンッジョンGRINDオススメ!!
imagine.gkwiki.com was the one that someone posted the google translation link for on the aeria forums.
I know that the gkwiki one is linked all over the place.
This isn’t limited to Aeria’s forum; EN players were also quoting stuff off the gkwiki one when there was still a sizable community on the JP server.
My question is why do the EN community use gkwiki as “the” Imagine wiki in the first place when the opposite is true for the JP community?
Heck, even Blue’s FAQs are based off stuff from gkwiki… Drill Comp comes to mind about how accurate gkwiki was/is.
The preference for gkwiki over wikiwiki is arbitrary. It was the first website I got on a Google search, and I got used to navigating that paticular site. When I finally got tired of explaining knockback and how to summon devils for the hundreth time, I simply went to the site I was used to and started compiling a simple guide.
The wikiwiki version is better though. Just look at the dungeon information.
However, at this point, I don’t have a preference anymore. I no longer update my guides. The game is in English, so I no longer have to teach people basics like how to use guns, and the only updates we get on the JP server all revolve around CP items.
Same thing in Taiwan, where people consider it the definitive source. Heck, you could get loads of bonus points in forum simply by copying and pasting stuff inside (without translation even).
I suppose it’s the first impression in which gkwiki’s front page look “comprehensive”. Not many people bother with verifying sources.
By the way, how do you obtain these formulae? By experiment or dissecting client data? If it’s by looking under the hood I’m interested in knowing how it’s done.
Lots of dead pixies/kahakus and communing with the dead hamsters who powered Cave’s servers.
“Lots of dead pixies/kahakus and communing with the dead hamsters who powered Cave’s servers.”
dear Andy, translation: “D. U. H. obviously by looking at client files, and experimenting on pixies and kahaku.”
She has this Ouija board thing you see, and a crystal ball. You know what kind of things bored people will do with those.
Oh puh~lease. She’s just watching some niconico vids and than states observations as facts. Like everyone else does.

Melee (like Mathias) is *weak* in sugi silver, gunners are useful in ichigaya gold….
*crickets* *crickets* *crickets*
I would’ve brough up the topic about pause button in SMT Imagine.
Melee is “weak” in sugi silver because by the time they reach the mob they’re all AOEed to hell… or, I mean, “take everything in the room down to 1/3 health”.
Those were the good old days of sugi silver online….
Melee are the weakest class in Imagine. Well known fact.
Obviously everyone uses a kotetsu from level 1->93.
Elemental weapons? Never heard of them.
Gae bolg? More like gay blog, right?
Brute force your way through resistance? Unknown concept.
Heavy attack only does as much damage per hit as agi, completely inferior to mages/gunners for single target damage.
Maelstorm + big wheel only does as much damage as maha zandyne, again inferior to gunners for AE damage.
Let’s not forget that melee toggles add to 60% total, while gunners is only 30% and mages 10%.
Mages being situationally better at AEing than melee is definitely an error that needs to be fixed.
Definitely the weakest.
In Ichigaya, Gunners are more overshadowed and slow then useless. Does Spiral Shot even solve the problem of the lack of a gunner AE attack?
Maybe there will be another balance.

There’s a new director, and he’s promising us content. A thousand makka says we get a new dungeon sometime next year.
“A thousand makka says we get a new dungeon sometime next year.”
Yes, and it will prolly be a time attack boss rush version of cell tower.
>> Does Spiral Shot even solve the problem of the lack of a gunner AE attack?
1 word, dodge.
Rofl I fail at typing, was suppose to say Gunners are relatively useless, <.<
as the rest of flow post follows that flow T_T
They DID make “balance tweaking” for gunners vs mages, it’s called Ceru Gold….
>.> I hope soon, Gunners will be able to fire mages from special CP only guns, and have them explode in a almighty fashion, killing everybody and everything in the dungeon for massive profit to CAVE’s coffers.
gwiki has pictures.
We all love pictures.

Ah nice, another source material to use from. Thanks for another link Finella.
