Selling Non-Item Mall Rares for $$$… Nice Idea, Aeria!
Especially when you couple it with selective censoring!

Some posts towards the end of the page are gone, but most of it are still preserved.
Firstly, why is that thread deleted?
Most probably don’t know, but Aeria has been censoring some posts that were linking to my blog, especially the Imagine sucks one since it’s “hurr durr, too negative”.
Censoring links to my blog is one thing, but outright deleting a thread because some of your players don’t agree with what you did is stupid.
Secondly, as dumb as Cave is, they’ve yet to pull off a stunt like this. Selling a rare that’s obtainable/craftable in-game for real life money IS cheapening the item.
Crystal Sword’s trade worth probably won’t drop because while it’s a rare, it’s fairly useless except for looks, so demand for it isn’t high in the first place.
However, if you pull off the same thing to say Emperor tarots, the entire synthesis market will collapse.
Your players ARE unhappy about this. Randomly censoring stuff isn’t going to help.

Yeah, I was actually part of the SB conversation mentioned in that post and first thing Chirugai pulled out was he ToS argument, not eve bothering to read the fact that we are talking about what could come as a result of Crystal Swords being sold in the Item Mall. Now mind you this isn’t the first item actually. They also sell Material Sequencers in the item mall, though I don’t have any objection over this one given the fact they are so hard to obtain in game/the fact no one does full clears of the ichi boss room. What I do object to is the selling of easily obtainable hair dyes, hair styles and trophy weapons (Yes, I consider Crystal Sword a trophy weapon) in the item mall.
Hoho, so they have been consumed by greed (and just stupid too). Max profit for minimal work d(^-^

Did you guys know that recently Spencer Cheap tried (again) to hire Fifi here as their beta tester for upcoming patches?? Yes, yep, without offering salary (again). GOD! And I thought I was a cheapskate!
Obviously Spencer Cheap know that all people in the world use AP to buy foods and pay bills! Isn’t he smart? AP should be the currency for everything so I dont have to bring that darn paper money in my RL wallet!

Dear Tanarin and Stranger X, so I have looked at Chirugai’s Aeria’s profile/posts and I have yet to see a sign of significant intelligence. I don’t see the point of deleting an entire thread, even if it supposedly got “derailed”.
Locking it/delete offensive post/whatever.
Deleting the entire thing just shows a horrible/dishonest side to them.
Also, just how much power do these game sages have and how the heck are they elected to their position in the first place?
Most don’t even seem to know how the game works.
Simple, people basically apply in a thread (With that post also being sent in a contact us form,) And the GMs choose one or more people to be Gamesages. They don’t really have any power other than being able to flag stuff for the GMs to see, (unless thy are a forum sae in which case they get forum mod powers.) If you think the Sage are bad, you should see the GMs, they truly don’t know how the game works, I mean jut look at the events they hold on a weekly basis to see what I mean.
Explains their quality then… I really pity the community over at Aeria.
Free translators and free customer support. Might as well have free GMs etc… and just reel in the $$$.

From what I can see, Chirugai, their very own game sage was the one who brought up the ToS nonsense and caused the entire thread to spiral off topic. Might as well just revoke off her status, eh?

As if putting non-AP items in item mall for AP and deleting a thread complaining about their lack of customer service wasn’t enough, they also screwed up the latest FC.

Nope, it’s the exact same.
Both the Enma/Goma change and the “too many people” one are literally one line changes to a binary file that isn’t even encrypted.
Makes you wonder why such things aren’t fixed quickly.
They still haven’t even bothered to fix something as minor as untranslated text in Ichi Bronze which says alot.

Being a Gs and geting ppl give you really good deals cause your a GS is not considered trading. Nor does a trader complain another trader keeps overpaying everything, and claiming they understand Economics better but clearly doesn`t have as much wealth to show for their trading skills.
But that is off topic, on topic of crystal swords, all I can say is I think i shoulda went into weapon smithing business to sell them for 4k ap. What the hell am I doing with synthesis D:
Pearz, kinda off topic but I figure I ask you as you are the one who plays DOMO. Do you even see this problem (Selling of in game obtainabe items) on DOMO? It seems like all Aeria cares about is DOMO and Shaiya these days.
It all depends on price they set in Item mall. If like the crystal sword, the price is higher the current market value the impact won`t be great. As only thedesperate would buy it from IM, and give sellers an excuse to raise their prices comparing it to IM price. If anything the price will go up a bit seeing as people did buy it at the 4k ap price tag.
So from in game economy wise, there wil be little to no impact, the huge problem lies in when the IM tries to under price the in game items……..
I take this as confirmation that Aeria does and often sell in-game rares for $$$ for DOMO?
They tried to pull it off in domo quite a few times, got burned by the comunity for it with lots of lengthy posts, and pulled it back out. But generally same response, shouldn`t add in game items to IM.
Though judging from megaten i doubt they will stop, If oyu havent noticed trend. Every time the Fortune cards Flop big time, they add stuff to IM to raise the sales back up for the week. It is their way of compensating for crap FC.
Well that may explain why the Product manager is making posts in DOMO asking the community what they want. I wonder if she even KNOWS what is gong on with megaten TBH. Wouldn’t surprise me if she didn’t knowing how things seem to work over there.
Pfft, it is obvious that Cave stopped developement of Imagine after 1/4 of the way and just opened it anyway to quentch as much money out of it as possible. So why should Aeria not do the same just in their own creative ways?
Mathias, stop being such a diva. CAVE actually did updates like Ceru Gold. Despite only reversed maps and enlarged/reduced mobs、 that piece of “fun” took 8 months to create. And CAVE did listened to their customers complaints like：

PVP is so awesomely balanced that Valhalla (5 vs 5) is NOT basically boycotted by the entire JP community. Chaos mages don’t dominate PVP either.
Botting is neither completely common nor is the Ikonomi collapsing due to Makka being worthless.

They seem to be spending a lot of money on development, for whatever reason.
Obviously Cell Gold needs a ton of money to develop, with all the new maps/models/gameplay changes and all.
They are by no means funneling the money made from their online section into their arcade/danmaku division; nor are they attempting to focus on mini4wd.

I had several people come up to me in game saying that they had a bad feeling I was going to get banned… since supposedly I was violating ToS by mentioning Cursebringer. I said (hypothetically) “If the Cursebringer comes… I quit. Or it better be like 200,000 AP.” Then all of the sudden I was getting accused of going against ToS rules by our ever-so-intelligent GameSage (and I use the term “sage” very lightly). Not in any way did I say “BEND OVER, THE BRINGER WEAPONS ARE COMING TO THE ITEM MALL!!!11″
I mentioned on the newest thread that I will no longer be posting on Aeria’s forums, due to the fact I don’t want to get banned for some petty bullsh*t such as this.
Well, I ended up getting a formal note of apology from one of the GMs last night. I have a feeling Chirugai might catch a little flak from all this. One can only hope…

In the end, it’s just their little chiwawa, Chirugai, failing to properly “censor” off everything.
Jolt’s apology to you, IMO, should be public, rather than through PM/whatever. At least Greywulf’s way of handling this whole mess somewhat resembles proper customer service.

This PM thing is definitely should be adopted by my CEOs. Well just another update, but it seems Aeria Has listened and has indeed taken down the Crystal sword. Guess all the bitching actually worked for once.
The skull jersey stuff(common drops/card maniac quest rewards) are still up on their item mall and they are as bad as the crystal swords…

Heh. This is just as bad as when I entered their blog contest to win $200 in AP which ended in an uber fail and a lot of people bitching at GMTaz. Even though I apologized to Taz, I still can’t help but feel a lot of people got shafted. And this item mall fiasco and thread deleting sure makes Aeria look like an on-line totalitarian state instead of being an “open and welcome community”.
