Surt+dodge was no more an issue, but one hit kill kirins was. In the end, 2ch sarashi guys laughed at his poor poor flamboyant Hero costume, only his name sounds strong, cannot kill kirins in one spin, cripple melee, etc. And they laughed too at the facts that he was a baka gaijin. Globe people thinks this melee is nice.

Another memory from our sugi gold era is when a nice female gunner who is tired of babysitting globe’s people then tell everyone behind globe’s back that they are all leechers plus sucks. then the gunner got out to join uh…idk which klan to bbe in a much more happier place, she moved but the gossips she spreads affects us as well, so everybody thought that we also suck and leech which is a big question mark since we dont play with japanese THAT often and we never leech. Nevertheless, everybody still thinks she is nice, and fifi is mean and snobbish.

Back when the level cap was at 80, we’ve someone that was at that point, the highest level melee in the EN community on the JP server doing some fairy retarded things.

Said person, let’s call him Lawl has a Surt. However, his Surt doesn’t have fog breath nor a dodge.

His Surt was so famous that he has about half a 2ch thread (around 500 posts) dedicated to it, and was colloquial known as a “megidola party wiper”.

Even before that, Lawl fused a Kerberos with TWO passives, the +30hp and +1 HP regen one.

He also didn’t have any magical weap, and thus was doing pathetic damage to Aeros.

Gear level at that time was fairly low and stuff like modification, kerberos/orthos bonus etc… wasn’t even implemented yet, so burst damage is quite low, and it was common at the point for people to lure bosses away one by one to kill.

When the boss room starts to spawn, Lawl would just rush straight into the room and melee the bosses, aggoring quite a few things in the process.

Remember that his Surt doesn’t have fog breath, so he’s isn’t able to shut down the boss’ attacks and thus, he get hellfire/etc to death very quickly.

How the heck did he get to his 70s in the first place? God knows, but a ton of melee players follow his “advise” and I’ve yet to see any of them still play the game.

I group with him once and the experience is mortifying.

Incidentally, Lawl was also the one behind the ash plate duping incident I mentioned about in the other post.

When the Surt thing was going on, he was already out of Globe, so no “reputation” harm to me.

Thankfully, I was never in the same clan as him.

For example, I can manage 6 minute runs solo on my main with incense/speed beads and porting out after the boss dies. This accomplishment to most on EN server is top-tier end game. I believe that for JP, its only about below average for end game.

“My memories of Sugi gold teams”

*shiver shivers* Pearz, I swear me and you and an enhancer was faster than a full group. Even then due to lack of no-knock back for me you had to solo most of the boss room. Casual leveling was not fun.

Yeah Finella, EN server’s casual leveling is horrible in terms of efficiency.

No fragrance/move speed increase, 2nd account only has +50% pulses, and I clear the whole room.

It’s hard to believe a full group would take more than a min to clear just 1 room of kirins.

I actually don’t level in teams cause of the horrid “casual”(Failure) teams on servers. (of all my leveling only lvl 47-60ish was done in teams for sugi gold with lots of horrid memories). More recently my friend Rho ( who also only ever team lvled maybe 45-55 sugi gold) decided to join an Ichi gold team as a enhancer (note she is Demo dash/Enhancer). She wanted to be lazy cause I didn’t feel like leveling.(normally we Duo now since both have PVP builds, but clear the speed run in 4 mins).

In that team, every player was 60+, but they took 3 full enhances to clear 1 room on the top floor. When they got to the boss room, the melee said he would pull jiko. Ended up pulling all gaki’s instead of jiko. As gaki’s run wild on top of them, Rho teleports out and team wipes out. So OBVIOUSLY cause it was PURELY the gaki’s fault they failed, they decided to spawn more bosses to reduce the amount of Gakis. So Rho finding huge humor in pretending to be a pure enhancer continued with them. Long story short, the arrive at boss room and Rho watches the team sacrifice them selves 1 at a time to hold jiko down a bit and 1 death bound comes and they all die. They ended up finishing run almost 45 minutes later.

Think this is a selective case? My memories of Sugi gold teams were pretty much exactly the same with sacrificing themselves for slight amount of damage on nightmares.

On last note, the game sages are picked by how “optimistic” (Ignorant) you are, and how well you can preach how good Aeria is. When your high level, you see all the huge flaws and can’t be like taht so your not wanted as a GS. Knowledge was never a requirement for being a GS or you wouldn’t have GSes needing to PM me cause they have no clue about half the game mechanics.
