Hurr… Modification Chances Are Fake!

So, I checked one of the links that were pointing to the modification chances data and I saw this statement:

“Slot 1, +1 mod can fail, Finella is just cooking up the numbers! Ask around, a lot of people have failed and blown up their weapon at +1!”

Firstly, the data are all pulled out from the client files.

If anything is listed there as 0% of failing, it’s 0%. I don’t round or truncate the figures.

Secondly, there are modification logs that lasted 10s of thousands of samples by now and they match the data shown in the client files.

現状、スロット番号を問わず1段階目での大失敗は、修理費低減と打撃以外では確認されていない。: Currently, regardless of slot, only repair and blunt can have a chance of being a great failure at the first stage.

とりあえず打撃と修理費低減以外の1段階目は改造しておく。特にスロット3の属性高揚は効果絶大なため改造必須: For now,
other than repair and blunt damage modification, the other modification are safe to mod at stage 1. This is especially true for slot 3, damage boost as their effects are huge.

改造失敗時に大失敗をしない改造は水色の背景で、(ほぼ)必ず大失敗する改造は黄色の背景で、それぞれ示す : Those marked in blue won’t have great failures and those mark in yellow will (nearly) always have a great failure.

A genuine great failure happens only when Cave accidentally screwed up the modification chances table.

The last time this happened was 6 months ago when the entire modification chance table was off by 1 row, resulting in great failures being possible for some mods that don’t normally have them, as well as weird mods for certain slots. (e.g. +crit for slot 1)

If you’re unlucky enough that Aeria based their patch on that version when you’re modding, and you got an great failure for slot 1… You should be winning the lottery soon.

The other situation is when you use a cabinet, instead of a cabinet pro for modding, but who in the right mind would use a normal one over a pro?

Feel free to prove that slot 1 has a chance to have a great failure, as what has been tested prove otherwise.

    Suspecting they let their poor pet hamsters to do the coding? Oh wait, impossible, hamsters can do better jobs even. Now will you excuse me, I’m buying a hamster to code me a new MMO and get rich from it. Ta-ta.
