So… About Abyss Cloak…
Heard that Aeria dump it up on the web-based item mall as a thinly disguised lottery and that people are complaining about spending tons of money trying to get it.
Wonder how people will feel about this:
This is an Abyss Cloak – Magic. It’s a recycled version of the normal abyss cloak. Same graphic, but different color. Has the same floating effect and -100% traesto cast time reduction too. Adds 3 m.def
One huge difference is that instead of adding 2 str and 2 magic, this cloak adds 0.1 magic/level, giving 9 magic at 90. There’s also a version that adds str and another that adds speed.
If there’s so much commotion about an abyss cloak that is inferior to the arch wings from the angel set for most archtype, wonder what kind of commotion this “improved” abyss cloak will cause.
These “new” Abyss cloak are pretty much the best in terms of damage, with the LNC cloaks/RE. stuff being situationally better.
There’s basically 2 RE stuff for back slot, RE. Arch Wings and RE. Abyss Cloak.
Basically you “upgrade” a normal arch wing/abyss cloak, using a clothes regenerator to change its existing bonus to +3% to all damage, +2 int/luck/sta.
A regenerator cost 500cp, which will probably be 5000ap on Aeria.
Why am I talking about this? Because all of these stuff are in the Aeria’s client file, which means they can spawn them in their web-based item mall anytime.
Learn to ask for the correct thing to prevent them from screwing you even more than necessary.

FYI, I got the new magic cloak with only 600k makka and the old one for like 2 jiko crystals? Wonder how inflated the ekonomi is in Aeria’s server d(^-^

Wishing I’d played JP server instead of wasting my time/money. I posted a thread about our in-game events being completely inferior to the JP ones… their response? Our version is a totally different game that doesn’t have access to everything the JP server has. Last time I check our games had the same name and were made by the same company. Fooled me, GM… fooled me.
Not so long ago (2009 june 25th), an Aeria GM said act 36 is in making. Goodness, I missed 20 new acts altogether in JP server….

And well, currently there’s this protopia survivor which looks like a sort of circus parade, players chasing after oversized nozuchi and baboon to prevent them from being killed by field bosses….
OHOHOHO. The Reset Items. They finally implemented them. The Hourglass has an expiration date of January 2009 (lolwut?) and the Waters/Bottles are available as well. Still no runestones in the magic shop~
And Aeria says the items are available for a limited time… but they don’t know how long they’ll be available. So be prepared for them to disappear any day. Meanwhile we had a sale on hourglasses right before this happen. Coincidence? I think not.
Protopia? What’s that? Perhaps I was wrong about the events, but it’s better than taking pictures of fake demons to win speed orbs (the non-AP ones) and gems. GMs still don’t know how 108 Ichi works, or how to get the Bishamonten plugin. They can manage to pull off firing GMs in such a fashionable manor though. We’ve had GM staged “events” where they put on a play… and mysteriously a GM gets “killed” or “goes to a distant land” never to return. Makes for a great show, but we know what’s going on behind the scenes.
I got a nice “ToS Warning” again by the lovely Lunacrescent for showing my dismay via-soapbox in Babel for the way the Abyss Cloak sales were handled. Apparently I was setting a bad example for new players. We finally had a chance to receive Alice as well… through yet another top spender/raffle/piss your money away promotion. Surprise, surprise… a 1-year anniversary demon turned into yet another money-laundering scheme.
Come on, Anna. We’re on Act 35 over here. Get with the program. Cave updates this game on a weekly basis with tons of new content. This game is ever-changing. Just wait until you see Zhu Que Gold… whenever JP server catches up with ours, that is.

Aeria can haz your cold hard cash.
Well, abyss cloaks thing. The JP server can haz cheapo items since it has farmers to sell CP items for makka then sell makka for real money thus stabilizing market. Aeria? Nuh-uh, you’re banned for peddling makkas , therefore abyss cloak fiasco.
GM thing? Well, I heard from some Aeria players that they are sort of um, retarded. (Hey, some aeria’s players told me exactly the same R-word! Stop giving me that look!). But after a while lurking in aeria forum, then I found out that there’s even more people who’re arse kissing the GMs…. I don’t find anything funny or cool on being killed by a GM, I don’t find anything awesome about a GM that cant answer how to get Bisha plugin nor about getting 100% mystery card on B35. But to each his/her own, I won’t argue.
I look at the screenshots, seriously, 5 slot hacked angel wing, 5 slot gears yada yada…dot dot dot.
Question: Is there a GM that actually open a public service synthesist event? Instead of running lowbie/highbie runs for helping to level, it’d be much more awesome if GM could help crystallize and help people gear up, people then will learn how to fight better and better by themselves. I wonder if Aeria’s synthesist charges for their services.
another one, the fact that you cannot multibox in Aeria’s version means that you will have to rely on your friends to get items/crystals that will have significant party member int+luck boosts, if your friends is offline then poof, -25 int and luck~
In JP version every synthesist have their assistor alts that is geared to provide PT members int/luck boost, so when full moon comes, they log to their assistor alts and then provide free service to everybody. Yes, free. Since in Aeria this feat is impossible without breaking rules, it’d be good if a GM can help. And by help I didnt mean by killing people in ch1 nor showing off on highbie/lowbie runs.

Thanks for letting us know it’s not getting XP. We’re working on it, and sometime today we’ll have a solution (I recommend leaving him un-summoned) and fix the Jack Frosts by tonight.
I’m pretty sure I already know what the issue is but we have to do some fine tuning to assure that it will gain XP and skills appropriately.
Update:
We’ve discovered that the problem stems from the Jack Frost being an NPC. (GMDantine, you just read the copypasta of our klan chat from this blog, didnt you?) Its natural XP gain is 0, and while I can think of some methods to work around this, none are permanent or infallible.
As such we’re going to have a slight fix delay while we get in contact with CAVE and discuss with them a possible permanent fix on their end to change the Jack Frost’s XP gain. So there’s going to be a delay in getting this fixed, possibly a day or two, and I sincerely apologize for that. We didn’t notice the issue on our test server as that server naturally has accelerated XP, and affected Jack Frost’s natural gain to reflect that.
Until then I hope you enjoy Jack Frost, and I believe he’s got his uses even at level 1 (sure he doesn’t do much damage, but he makes a good tank and vanity item XD).-> good tank??? “XD” wut? people paid good money for those, this is not funny, this is money business, in money thing people have to be srs.
More updates to come once I know exactly what’s going on with the fix for this, and once again, I apologize. (s/he meant once finella posted more info on nightmare frost, I think)

Time to write a devil mechanics guide for our ignorant GMs at Aeria?
Test server my arse. They obviously didn’t test it at all, or they would have noticed the other problemS (plural) with Nightmare frost as a PC devil: no growth type, no learnable skills programed and no features.
What does this means? It means that frost can’t be re-unioned and won’t learn any skills even if you level him up.
The only thing Aeria can do is change the level and the skill it starts off with.
They can’t even change the features the Frost has due to programing limitations.
In order for the Nightmare Frost to do what Aeria promised (can be leveled, gain skills as it levels etc….), Cave would need to create a NEW devil entry in their data files, both client and server side.
This is basically the same as creating a brand new devil and we know how wonderful Cave is in that aspect.
Also, didn’t Aeria claim they can’t change game data in any way? i.e. the excuses given during the whole resetting fiasco.
Yet they are willing to ask Cave to do something if it involves their top spender thing?
Maybe they will give the lucky few Alices instead. Seems easier then trying to fix the jack. At least one can hope lol. Even though I didnt win. :-(
Alice has quite a few problems herself.
- Wrong friendship modifiers.
She only gain 25/50 from care command, and level x 10 from leveling, making it impossible to max her friendship unless you reunion her a lot of times.
- Cannot be fused with other devils
While Alice learns megido/void curse/bufudyne and some other decent skills, those skills can’t be transferred off to other devils, since she’s flag as being unusable in a fusion.
Pretty much a devil that is only for display.
Aeria knows the content of their patch

Then I wonder why Aeria released the reset items not simultaneously with the stats effects patch. FYI, JP server have the reset items in chain with the patch. Those things should be released together if you cant change the game data as patches from CAVE supposed to be released as is after translation process.

Heard a rumor regarding about a Cursebringer or something that was given away. Mind elaborating on that?
Our server has 2 cursebringers. 1 was found legitly doing tons of runs (From what I heard 6 players got it on 6th run together)
The other Curse bringer is held by 1 of our GSes. I believe that one was handed off by a GM since that group that did find the first Curse bringer, for 2-3 weeks tried selling those cup of Emptiness in large sums. Hard to imagine a 2nd one could be found without another huge flood of those.

Luna and Yuki supposedly duo’d for that didnt they? Along with her invincible unicorn… Also with all the Hype and value on the Shadow Vouchers recently given out. It was a bit odd that 2 Sages not listed as winners, had them on the day they were awarded… Then again some of the names on the Promo’s Winner list didn’t exist either…, but who actually checks that right? What’s a few missing vouchers passed along on the side. Also the sage mentioned above has admitted to acts of Favoritism and the GM no longer being with us. *Vicc fired* *Cough* *Sekushi left* *Cough* – To bad Aeria deletes or hides posts like this.
Funny story, back in the day when I played Domo (another Aeria game), randomly a player obtained over 100 Tin (was extremely rare crafting mat) and 100 Gold bars (a Tier even higher then tin, that couldn’t even be obtained yet).
I Posted it claiming that either the guy was hacking or a GM handed it off. Within 5 mins posting my screenshot, my thread was replied by a GS and then quickly moved/deleted. I still have the screen shot I beleive :O

FWIW, Cave don’t have an active in-game GM staff.
The only time you see GMs are during rare events.
But unlike in the Happyhappy land Aeria (just because complaining equals breaking the ToS, so must be happy happy and optimistic) they didnt go mess with PVP scoreboard and killing people for fun either. Messing scoreboard without warning (or even with) = 2ch wrath.

Editing any of the game file content violates the salad toss.
Does this include log files, InsideOption.txt, OutsideOption.txt and KeyConfigOption.txt etc…?
Please don’t change your key config, resolution etc… and that’ll cause files in the game folder to be edited, and you’ll violate the ToS due to that!
Also, wasn’t one of their patch fubared and in order to fix it, you’ve to edit ImagineUpdate.dat to point to the correct patch server?

Of course, Taraka is WEAK to ICE. This means all the "stupid" Japanese players are actually really really "dumb" for raising reunioned Taraka since they thought Taraka has no weakness. Wikiwiki is wrong too.

GS Kuen doesn’t deserve such harsh criticism. I think he’s one of the few GS who actually deserve the position. His dedication to the game is unparalleled. Why, you can see him playing every day.
Uh, almost. Well, sometimes. Pfft, okay, he barely plays the game. Despite Megaten being the only MMORPG he plays, he seldom logs on. (How do I know this? Am I on his friends list? His clan? I don’t remember.) For a time, however, he was very active in the shoutbox. That still counts, doesn’t it?
I don’t think you should be bashing the kind of advice he gives, either. This knowledge is supported by his experience as a closed beta player, as well as all 44 of his current in-game levels. Er, did I say 44 levels? I think he leveled up last month. That makes him level 45, I guess. Anywho, if you still have any misgivings, let me remind you that he is a gifted child and his innate talents will surely make up for any shortcomings you might think he has.
And don’t forget the card game he designed! The GMs acknowledged it! No other GS have credentials as impressive as this.

I dont have a ss where she admitted to the GM getting termed for favoritism, but there were witnesses in the group (I should have gotten one at the time but the discussion was a bit heated.) Grey, I heard got in trouble for giving Luna stuff though (**what Pearz referenced on her magically showing up with a Cursebringer among other things). Hmm I do have a ss where she was getting pissed in babel and used “A$$” (GSages usually claim they are enforcing ToS but just play the role of glorified Chat Police and spend all day in the ShoutBox…. (Its surprising what “they” consider profanity in their own little worlds) I’ll post the ss when i get off work though. Honestly, how does it make you feel when someone tells you to watch your language for saying “what the hell?” Are we in church or something? The Incubus Demon should violate the TOS for his obvious.. well yeah lol!

Keep in mind, Nephrae is a “full support mage with destro skills.” Not a Demo Dash… not an Enhancer. Just full failure, so she sits around Babel all day using the “Cry” emote and attempting to trade for equips she’ll never put to use. She doesn’t warn the spammers in shout at all, yet when I get on my soapbox she comes over with a rolled up newspaper and tries to keep me at bay.

Unrelated, but I don't find the GS's all that helpful on multiple levels. I've seen clan events (*coughRevertcough*) and another clan I've never heard of, have their event announced in that white text. My clan and I wanted to hand out free stuff to new players in home 3 – not terribly bad stuff for them, iron fans, blood rings and invasion armor (not that most of them can wear it but hey) and we asked Nephrae if she could contact a GM who was available and make a quick announcement and she tells my clannie "GMs wouldn't do that, they don't announce things for clans".
So…just Revert and maybe certain clans that go "OMG JoLt-sama" and kiss up? I think they apply a different set of standards for themselves because they're "special" and above everyone else.
So this is what GS Nephrae means by working her ass: Rejecting announcement requests from loyal players (you’ve got to be loyal if you play this horrible game long enough).

First of all, its just your insecurity about the Revert clan that they are high and mighty. Please dont group the entire clan with a few certain people or person you just mentioned. I am still a member of Revert way before it was the 2nd clan to reach level 10 behind Desire. Nothing special about being in a level 10 other than the stat bonus it gives us. Only some people in the clan seems superior to the rest because they are either gs or someone that kisses the gms a$$. Youre from 7thDB Clan right?;p
Guys, call me naive, but when we mention GM/GS “favoritism” and “ass-kissing” does those terms actually includes cybersex? Since risking your position by giving rare weapon without getting something in return is a foreign concept to me. (I’m a believer in no free-lunch world~)
Hi moni here, revert clan leader. To start this out our clan is an old clan and weved been in troubles and issues already. And having a GS as a member doesnt mean alot in clan they are just normal players who have connection to a GM. About this nephrae having her cursebringer i think she really got it from a gm not sure tho. GS-GM connection doesnt concern revert clan. Some of my members really spend alot in this game and have luck to get what they want.
We just got a chance to announce our clan event, even u guys can ask for announcement just plan it and tell it to a GS. Posting it in forums also help.
Actually i also dont like how they work on this ToS, this concerns me becoz me myslef spend real cash too. Also i dont like how they release their in game stuffs.

Was so funny to see Nephrae breakin ToS. Btw was even more funny, when he said he work his ass off for this game. LOL. On another note regarding the Abyss cloak. When the item boxes came out, almost immediately 2 GSages got 2 cloaks each? Big Spenders or just plain BS? Im still irked about how Nephrae and Yuki` magically traded for vouchers on the first day they were awarded…
Thier not “Paid”. Paid implies cash. AP is not considered paid since its not any form of currency.

AP does have cash value, and is also something they are receiving for doing their duties as a GS. If it were truly a volunteer position, then they technically shouldn’t receive anything. If the 2k AP is hush-hush, how do you know Pearz? I’m just curious.
Well I guess since JonGhost put 0 dollars/euros/etc paid does imply “cash”. But still, it’s some kind of payment since their work as being GS earns them free stuff like abyss cloaks, shadow vouchers and who knows what.
Plus, one can argue about the monetary value of such things that normal players have to spend to get. Since GS’s get it “free”, then they are receiving favourable benefits as opposed to the potential $x normal players would have to spend.
Kai, it’s not considered cash value. A good example is casinos. Your not allowed to gamble, so people use chips. Technically their just handing around pieces of plastic and not real money. It is the same general idea, it isn’t real money now matter how much it resembles.
I know about it cause a good year and a half ago when I was playing domo a GS from Last Chaos(or another of their older games) that was quitting or somthing suddenly told everyone. Was a huge fiasco when it spread to every game how all the GSes were gettting paid 2k AP. Most older players have heard of it.
Wouldn’t AP be considered purchased digital goods then? Chips you can cash back in for currency where AP you can’t as far as I know. Even though its free AP, its compensation in one form or another which they are getting yes?
I believe from a legal perspective, MMO companies claim that the stuff isn’t cash and has no value because it creates messiness with regards to things like taxes and gambling laws.
Todo, if you read TOS, your actually not purchasing anything. Your account is being lent to you by Aeria. It makes it so they can actually delete or terminate your account at any point and theres no legal action you could take. (read TOS there is a line taht states they can delete your account without warning)
Though they CAN do it, they won’t since its bad business to delete an account without reason, if news gets back to rest of population, huge unrest and such would happenin fear of there account. Would be bad for a business to do this.
