Quick Bits About Aion JP’s Open Beta…
IP restriction is in full effect now.
Previously you can access the game as long as you can access the site, but now, you need an area 11 IP in order to log in to their server.
2 of the 5 servers are now full and no new characters can be created on them.
Lag was insane when I logged in earlier, probably because everyone was trying to log in and reserve names.

wow an IP Ban on a JAPANESE server? I’m so shocked!
Lag in the german closed beta was okey at the weekend. I only got the same lag that I have in IMAGINE since 2 years so I blame my bad internet connection for this little trouble. But on the other hand I am used to it. The only bad day was monday, the last day for the 3rd closed beta test. One server was full and you had to wait a long time to finally login only to lag around and get your screen freeze. But it was okey. At the moment we only have 2 servers but every server got 10 channels. I dont know if we will ever have a open beta too. Next closed beta event will be in 2 weeks so no playing until then.
Maybe you could be so nice to post one screenshot of the game? I can not turn the all the effects and stuff to the max and I would like to see how it looks on your PC.

I think one of the reasons why Japanese server are so crowed is that WoW China is down because of the changing hands of WoW Operation from The 9 to NetEase in China. Basically, millions of Chinese players can play WoW during summer…(its really sad to just think about it) On the top of that, snda, the company who operate Aion in China, like Aeria, isn’t managing the game properly (careless GMs and allowance of hacks). Therefore, tons of Chinese players, who are not able to play WoW and unwilling to stay with snda, are trying other Asian services such as the one in Japan or recently, one in TW. Aion TW is full ATM as well so is WoW TW.
I played NA Aion closed beta 2 (level 10 cap) and 3 (level 20 cap) and I really like it. It makes me realize how much a waste of time Megaten was. I think you are going to like it, Finella.
More of a lack of decent MMORPGs as a whole and people are just flocking to whatever seems promising IMO.
Yes, and Aion is the most promising one. I really liked it, pre-ordered it already. Very good game IMHO IF operated right, hoping for less bot and hackers in NA version. (wishful thinking)
