Server Status, or Rather, a Lack of One

I bashed together a server status page since both Cave and Aeria fail to provide one.

Main reason for this is because Cave’s servers are incredibly unstable lately and it doesn’t help that they keep editing the same message to show that the server has only crashed once, instead of showing the actual number of times the server has went down.

There are two parts to my server status page.

1) Current Server Status

Shows the current status of the servers, as well as average ping/uptime over the last 1/24hrs.

The scans are conducted at near real-time.

Firstly, a script will sent a connection packet to the server in question and waits for a reply packet.

This is different from conventional ICMP-base pinging methods because I’m sending a packet that would only replied to IF an Imagine server is actually running on the other end.

My script will still treat the server as being down, even if the server is up, but Imagine isn’t running.

Ping to Aeria are noticeable faster than to Cave because my server is located in Amerika.

2) Server History

Shows the historical status of the servers on a day/hour basis.

With this, we can see some luls going on for Aeria’s patching methods.

Aeria’s Login Server, 10th of March

Login was brought down at 4am JST, brought up somewhere after 6am, then taken down at 8am JST.

Aeria’s CH1, 10th of March

CH1 was brought down somewhere after 4am, brought up by 5am, and REMAINED online until somewhere after 10pm JST, where it’s brought down again.

CH2, CH 3,CH 4, etc… shows the same thing.

So what does this show? Nothing was done to Aeria’s server for SEVENTEEN hours.

The server would be brought down if some changes were actually applied to them

What the Aeria GMs are “working hard” on are probably just trying to contact Cave.

The server was down simply because Cave didn’t send a fix until around 11pm JST or so.

Remember, channels are unified here on the JP servers. Cave has to “depatch” that before sending them over to Aeria, less a repeat of last week’s login issue.

p.s. Enjoy your plasma nerf. One less thing to depatch at least.
