Repair Cost Calculation
Apparently no one on Aeria knows how it works.
Each item has a base repair modifier.
Each shop also has a repair modifier.
e.g. Leather glove has a base repair modifier of 3
Arcadia 98% repair has a repair modifier of 40.
98% = 40
96% = 20
94% = 10
93% = 8
90% = 4
So for each durability, repair cost of leather gloves in Arcadia is 3 * 40 = 120.
For simplicity sake, the repair cost listed on my item page are pre-calculated values based off 98% repairs. Divided them by 40 for the base value.
Tarot will multiply the repair cost by 1.5
Soul stone will multiply the repair cost by 3.0
Both tarot and soul stone on an will multiply the repair cost by 4.5
Taking leather glove again, if both slots are enchanted, it’ll cost 540 point/durability.

An Aegis for example has a base repair cost of 4800/durability.
Fully enchanted, it’ll cost 21600/durability.
As a whole, glove soul enchants are fairly limited. Pretty much down to Naga Rajah, Nekomata or Jack Frost for the set bonus.
If money is a huge concern, a gorgon enchanted leather glove will serve the same functionality as an Aegis for most people, at a fraction of the repair cost.
Glepnir however is a different case as there isn’t really an alternative for it until roping muffles etc…
Another example, Leather Glove vs Spectral Glove.
Leather glove cost 120 makka/durability to repair. Fully enchanted = 540 makka/durability
Spectral glove cost 760 makka/durability to repair. Fully enchanted = 3420 makka/durability
The only difference between them is… spectral glove has +6 pierce resistance/-6 fire resistance which is fairly pointless.
Most of the lowbie repair issue on Aeria probably comes from a lack of knowledge.
I’m betting a lot just buy the most expensive armor off the NPC stores and think it’s the best, then QQ over the repair cost when they can just tweak their gear a bit and save a ton off repairs.
