Anyone remember this interview with Nikawa? Previously covered by me on this post.
Last patch of 2010 for Imagine has rolled out, and Diaspora Ueno is no where in sight.

Classes and Souls: People like the system. They want more of it. They want to be able to play with more options, sooner — Both in terms of the numbers of points they can invest, as well as the numbers of souls and how they roll out. We hear you, and we agree.
The system really does play at its best once you have a pool of points to play with. That said, those high-end 51 point abilities look like fun too. What isn’t fun is asking people to make that kind of choice at the high end: Do I forsake the fun of the system to get the power I feel that I need in that 51 point ability?
In our system, it’s possible to give people even more choices by getting more points and more souls, faster. We can let people get all the way to a top-end soul ability if they choose, and still be able to have points to spend elsewhere into two other souls.
In time for Beta 3, expect to see all of the souls available to choose from the outset, more souls available earlier in the experience, and more total points to spend. The system is there, and it’s fun, and there’s no reason to hide it from people.

Hopefully this solves one of the biggest issue I have with Rift right now.
We’re speaking with our developers to get more information about this system and the way it works. For instance, we want to check on the time frame during which the price fluctuation happens, and the actual degree to which it will fluctuate. If we feel that there are some issues with the way it runs, we will request changes.
How the heck do you test something if you don’t know how it’s exactly supposed to work? Can’t you jokers up at Aeria’s office drop the pretense of knowing anything remotely technical about the game?
Months of testing and you didn’t realize that price fluctuation wasn’t active when CoC2 went live, and even now it’s partially borked?
Months of testing and you neither know how often prices change, nor the degree of change?
I’m very interested to know what kind of QA methodology you guys adopt.
OTOH though, it’s good to see a GM that actually knows what he’s saying, and actually went forth to do real tests.
Greywulf’s numbers on Cell Gold are accurate, though getting the 105 pearls/120 opals required to hit 300k+ takes a good amount of time.
However, Cell Gold’s pearls/opals isn’t a recent change.
Anna and I farmed Cell Gold for Makka during the short period between channel unification and Shiva/Vishnu. For that period of time, we were actually considered rich in-game and could afford stuff.
Of course, the inflation brought about by Shiva/Vishnu killed off any further interest we have for the game…
Go QQ there.
